I still look at the bike in amazement that all the parts fit together so well.  I'm sure this bike is just the begining and hope to send you more creations in the future. Thanks, Steve Propp
Steve Propp: Big Boy's Krate
This was my first attempt at building a custom bicycle.  Although I know the idea of building an adult-size krate bike is not original, I love the way it turned out and how it rides.

I started with a 1966 Schwinn 26-inch frame given to me by Lisa at Larson's Bicycle in Worland Wyoming.  That was the easy part.  The next step was to search the world for all the parts to make it come together.  The parts are a combination of new, NOS, and just plain old.  The rear wheel is a 24-inch modified to use a disc brake with a 24x3 flametread tire mounted on it.  The front wheel is a 20-inch drum brake with a 20x1.75 mounted to it.  I extended the springer front end so the geometry would be correct.  I also fabricated an extension where the seat meets the seat post.  This allows the sissy bar to stay vertical.  I extended the shifter and placed the Hurst shift knob on top.
I still look at the bike in amazement that all the parts fit together so well.  I'm sure this bike is just the begining and hope to send you more creations in the future. Thanks, Steve Propp
